Entry 2 : About the design of the blog
You might thinks that my theme for this blog is very bold and burst your eyes (even it's like a dark mode) and maybe wonder i choose this palette instead of one more classic and less aggressive. I try to respond to that in this post.
First, I like it, really. It give for me a "retro" vibe, like you read an old blog from the early internet (and the design philosophy of bear blog it's in that direction). I find this fun.
Then my inspiration come from he well-known Cyberpunk 2077 games from CD Projeckt, more specifically the ui theme of Johnny Silverhand (fun fact : this ui is designed for colorblind person or something like that, wich Keanu Reeves, the interpreter of Johnny, have).
I like as I hate the character, which reveals the quality of his writing and interpretation. I hate him because of his selfishness and need to manipulate everyone around him, especially his friends (and V) but like him for what it represent, rebellion in his essence. Yet when he "back to life" in 2077, you can feel he changed, the so famous rebel just want to live again whatever the cost (I know his personality changes through V story choices, but at first he says clearly he doesn't give a fuck at V's life). And all that lead to an internal conflict of the character that i like between his selfishness survival and his desire to rebel and destroy megacorp (like Arasaka) and "protecting" his friends.
But so why i choose his ui to design my blog ? I don't want to be him, but i like his rebellious aspect, which i want to spread over this blog, and also to shows that human (especially me) can have contradictory desires and thoughts.
Ps : As I writing this post, I feel the paradoxal thing of liking the "rebellious part of Johnny". Why ? Because being "punk" and rebel is to reject the system in some way, but cyberpunk 2077 and other so called punk license is owned and controlled by big corpo and the industry in general, which, in a sense, destroy the very meaning of it by making it just "aesthetic" and "glamorized" ambiance. I think i write a post on it one day.
